BLENDED FIRST AID AT WORK ELEARNING MODULE
This First Aid at Work elearning module allows learners to complete the full 18 hour First Aid at Work qualification as a blended course.
Description
This elearning module has been designed to give learners the theoretical knowledge needed to accompany 2 days of practical face to face training day and meets HSE requirements for the First Aid at Work qualification.
Course content provides learners with the theoretical knowledge to:
- understand the role and responsibilities of the first-aider
- assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and
- effectively in an emergency
- administer first aid to a casualty who is unresponsive (including seizure);
- administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use an automated external defibrillator
- administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
- administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
- administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock including anaphylactic shock
- provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and
- bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters)
- recognise the presence of major illness (including heart attack, stroke,
- epilepsy, asthma, diabetes) and provide appropriate first aid
- administer first aid to a casualty with:
- injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries;
- chest injuries
- burns and scalds
- eye injuries
- sudden poisoning
Duration: Approximately 6 hours
