The Prevent Duty and British Values for Early Years Settings
Target Audience
This online course is aimed at everyone working in Early Years settings including childminders and nursery staff.
The Prevent duty became law in 2015. It places a duty on all schools and registered early years providers to safeguard children and young people from being drawn into extremism and terrorism.
This course gives learners an understanding of the Prevent duty, its role in educational settings, particularly Early Years settings and their role and responsibilities to ensure they comply with the Prevent duty.
Learning content
Course content has been developed in line with government guidance from the Home Office, the Department for Education and the EYFS Statutory Framework.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners should be able to:
Duration: 45-60 minutes
Access: This online course can be completed on any PC or mobile device. Learners can study at their own pace and log in and out as often as they wish
Assessment: Continuous self-checks throughout the course (100% pass mark required to progress to next lesson) and an end of course multiple choice test with a 70% pass mark
Certification: On successful completion, learners can download a certificate as evidence that they have passed the course.
Accreditation: This course has been submitted for accreditation by the CPD Accreditation Group
